In ancient Germanic and Slavic folklore, the birch tree played a significant role. From this time the custom of the maypole originated: that of taking a tree trunk from the forest and errecting it in the village square as a symbol of spring and new life. This ancient practice is still alive in many countries of the world.

This design is supplied in 8 Panels together with required paste.

All the motifs have been chosen so that they can be trimmed on every side without detracting from the overall effect.
